FAT DISSOLVING INJECTIONS - AQUALYX
Aqualyx provides an advanced, non-surgical solution to removing unwanted fat in areas that are often resistant to diet and exercise, no matter how rigorous the efforts are. The fat dissolving injections eliminate stubborn areas of fat that collect in areas such as: under the chin, on the thighs, knees, back (bra rolls) and chest (gynecomastia).
The fat dissolving injections will optimise and complement a healthy lifestyle so that you can benefit from fat reduction, faster.
Every treatment begins with a consultation. During this time, we will discuss your goals and expectations, and existing lifestyle. We’ll also examine your medical history to determine whether your expectations are realistic and whether this treatment will be suitable for you. Aqualyx is a popular treatment for the double chin, as this type of subcutaneous fat is particularly hard to eliminate through diet and exercise.
The fat dissolving injections can treat a wide range of concerns which include the double chin (unwanted fat under chin), bra rolls (rolls of fat on back), moobs (gynecomastia/unwanted fat in breast area for men), fat pouches (men may develop fat pouch under navel), muffin top (unwanted fat on hips), thigh touching (unwanted fat on inner thighs) and more.
If you are deemed a suitable candidate for treatment, we’ll assess which areas require treatment. Once you come in for treatment, the Aqualyx will be administered via a syringe. A topical numbing cream may be applied to minimise discomfort.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIOS
- What does it involve?
During your consultation, we will discuss the areas of concern with you. If you are a suitable candidate for treatment, we’ll assess which areas require treatment. Through a series of injections, we will inject the solution into the agreed treatment areas.

- Who is suitable for?
You will see the best results if you have an active and healthy lifestyle that you will maintain following the treatment.
Aqualyx will work to shift resistant localised fat that has been hard to eliminate through diet and exercise alone.
Aqualyx is not a weight-loss treatment. It will work best for those that are already in relatively good shape and lead a healthy lifestyle. It’s an ideal treatment for those who are looking for an alternative to laser treatments.
The treatment is unsuitable for those that are overweight or pregnant, have lipodystrophy, diabetes or kidney disease.

- When can the results be seen?
Results may be seen after just one treatment after around four to five weeks and will improve with a course of treatments. Results are variable and depend on a variety of factors such as: how much pre-existing fat you have, your age, lifestyle, the stability of membranes, and whether you gain weight after treatment. We encourage you to maintain a stable weight following your Aqualyx treatment to benefit from the results.

- How long does it take?
The treatment takes approximately 20 minutes but depends on the size and amount of areas that require treatment.

- What are the risks?
General side effects of the Aqualyx treatment include swelling, bruising, skin irritation, tenderness and redness.

- What areas can be addressed?
-
Double chin (unwanted fat under chin)
-
Bra rolls (rolls of fat on back)
-
Fat pouches (men are prone to developing a fat pouch under navel)
-
Muffin top (unwanted fat on hips)
-
Thigh chafing (unwanted fat on inner thighs)

- How does it work?
Subcutaneous fat can be extremely hard to shift. This type of fat often collects around the hips, thighs and buttocks for women, and on the stomach for men. Whilst some people will maintain a healthy lifestyle and endure vigorous exercise regimes, sometimes this isn’t enough to eliminate the fat in these areas.
The solution works to dissolve stubborn fat cells that liquify and leave the body through the lymphatic system.

- How long will it last?
Results vary from patient to patient. The permanency of the treatment is also variable depending on the patient’s aftercare efforts and limitations of treatment.

- What is the downtime?
Patients may experience some degree of redness, swelling and bruising at the injection site. We advise you to avoid taking inflammation painkillers such as Ibuprofen before your Aqualyx treatment as this can worsen bruising. We will advise the appropriate aftercare actions, and it is essential to follow their steps to minimise downtime. The swelling usually subsides after around three to five days.

- How many sessions are required?
For optimal results, a patient will require 3-8 sessions. These sessions should be every 6 weeks.
